Over the holiday weekend, Patrick convinced me to have a little fun on the water. We traveled down the Mississippi and up the Kaskaskia Rivers. We passed through the Kaskaskia Lock and Dam, which was kind of creepy by the way. You are in a big man-made hole with the water slowly rising.
Even though I was hanging on for dear life, I managed to get a few shots that I liked. I did miss the close up of the heron perched in the doors of the lock. A massive hand appeared in front of my camera lens. 😉
We spent a couple of hours in Evansville playing in the water, ate some awesome BBQ in New Athens, and made the trip back up river. It was dark as we headed back and there are some awesome shots that I want to get later on. The lime and cement plants on the river were lit up like christmas trees and the reflections were beautiful. But that is another night.
I’m going to recouperate more over the next few days and catch up on some restorations. Where’s my aloe?
